About the Authors This site is a compilation of information from a number of sources. My name is Rich McCabe and I am basically the Webmaster who brings it all together. There are two other major co-authors, Jon Mello and Jerry MacNeish. Their guidance and documentation contributions have made this site the wealth of information you see today. Jon is a fellow 67 Z owner and member of the Camaro Research Group. I am not going to state how many, but I think Jon may hold the record for the number of '67 Z28's owned by a single person. Jon is very knowledgeable and we are thrilled to have him as part of the site. Jon enjoys vintage race history, so if you have any pictures or documentation related to 1967 Z28's raced in that era, please contact him at jon@1967z28.com Jerry is the owner of Camaro Hi-Performance, and author of two major Camaro fact books. He is also a member of the Camaro Research Group and many other organizations. Jerry's company is well known for component restoration on concourse show cars and documenting their authenticity. Most Camaro buffs are familiar with Jerry and rely on his expertise regularly. OK back to the "Webmaster"..... I am a 38 year old native from Des Moines Iowa. I currently own a 67 Z-28 RS. I have always been fascinated with the 67 Z and I can remember very well the first time I saw one in an article. I was looking through old magazines with my buddy Doug, and ran across an article in the front of a February 67 Car Craft about the 67 Z-28 with a picture of the well known "13M640" car. This was my first exposure to a car I had no idea existed. As boys will be boys, I said "Some day I will own one of those". Normally it would be wise to discount such a comment, but the desire to own one never left me and I spent the next several years buying anything that had any reference to a first year Z-28, and thinking about the day I would bring one home. A few years ago, a friend told me about a Z in a car trader magazine. It was located in Phoenix Arizona and was a Bolero Red RS. I mentioned the ad to my wife and she said "Why don't you buy it?" I felt like saying who are you and what have you done with my wife? Before she realized what she said, I called the owner and sure enough it was a genuine Z-28. Rust free, original sheet metal and mine for the taking (a little cash was involved too). Talk about not being able to sleep. What was a dream for many years, was soon to become a reality. I love to talk about the first year Z, and would enjoy hearing from anyone that owns one, or has any pictures or knowledge of this rare car. Feel free to E Mail me at rich@1967z28.com I currently have a 67 Z-28 under restoration in my garage. You can read about it here.
